Linda Kreter and WiseHealth for Women Radio presents:

The Iron Man Film Trilogy and Security in American Pop Culture

Katie Cox
Guest Katie Cox is a researcher at the Australian National University, examining the relationship between American popular culture and politics. She believes that popular stories reflect our deepest hopes and fears, and is writing her dissertation on the depiction of post-9/11 national security in Marvel’s Iron Man film trilogy.

The Iron Man films bring a richness to the connection between the emotional impact of 9/11 felt around the world, and Katie shares how widely American culture permeates the world. What does security mean to you? Trauma, vulnerability, fears, and difficult issues may be discussion provokers, especially when couched in an accessible and very popular film series. Katie brings the stories alive and connects them to the event affecting global generations to come!
